Websites for fine jewelers · San Francisco

We build and run online stores for independent jewelers.

Ricardo Reyes

Run by Ricardo Reyes. One operator, by name.
Every number on this page carries a note saying where it came from.

01

The problem

You can grade a stone. Grading web work is harder.

Most jewelers we talk to say a version of the same thing: I do not understand this stuff, and I am worried I will get taken. That worry is reasonable. Web vendors quote vague scopes, bill monthly, and hand you nothing you can check.

So this site works like an appraisal. Every claim is a line item. Every number carries a footnote that names the source, the method, and the date. If we cannot source a number yet, the note says verification pending. Check our work the way you would check a cert.

What you are buying

One operator, compared honestly with an agency

Two of these rows favor the agency. They stay in the table. If you need what an agency offers, hire one; we would rather lose the job than the trust.

Who does the work

Us:Ricardo. The person on the call ships the site.

Agency:A team you meet after signing. Staff changes mid-project.

24/7 team coverage

Us:No. One operator.

Agency:Yes. Larger agencies staff around the clock.

Many builds at once

Us:No. A few clients at a time, deliberately.

Agency:Yes. Big teams run parallel projects.

Price before work starts

Us:Fixed figure in writing, or scoped on one call.

Agency:Often a retainer. Scope changes cost extra.

Contract terms

Us:Month to month. 30 days written notice.

Agency:6 to 12 month contracts are common.

Who owns the site

Us:You do. Accounts, domain, code, content.

Agency:Varies. Read the fine print.

Who does the work

I am the person who ships your site.

I am Ricardo Reyes. I run the Shopify Plus storefront for Giraux Fine Jewelry, and I founded this studio to do the same work for other independent jewelers. No account managers, no hand-offs. The person on your discovery call is the person who builds your store and answers your messages after launch.

The honest trade: you get one experienced operator, not a team. When I am out, the work waits. What you get in return is that nothing is lost between people, and every promise has one name on it.
